BANashville singer-songwriter Brinley Addington has released a new single, “Changing  My Mind”.  Long-time Country’s Chatter readers will recognize that name.  We have written nearly two dozen articles about him since July 2010.  The first article was about his appearance at our huge July 4 celebration in Johnson City, Tenn.

His new single, “Changing My Mind” is a romantic song, a bit of a love story, I think.  It pretty much tells all of us that even when we think we have our lives planned out, something (or someone) just might come along and point us in a different direction.

One of my favorite lines is when the song says something like this ‘there you go making things better, bringing it all together, fixing all the things I thought were fine’.  It is so easy for us to accept things the way they are, just because we are such creatures of habbit.  We think things are fine and don’t really plan on changing them. This is a good song.  It’s the kind of song you really want to listen to clear through.  You just have to know where it’s going.

I’ve been listening to Brinley Addington music for a very long time.  I’ve seen growth and maturity in both his writing and his vocals.  But one thing I hope he never changes is his uniqueness.  His voice is so easy to recognize. He isn’t trying to sound like anyone else. When you hear his music, you never have to ask anyone, “who is that”.  You just know.

I’m going to leave you with a Brinley video for his single, “No Thanks”.
