JOEL CROUSE RELEASES
TIMELY NEW TRACK “SURVIVIN’”
Joel

Today Nashville-based, pop-rock singer/songwriter Joel Crouse releases timely new track, “Survivin’.” Listen HERE. Released independently by Crouse’s Hum Records, the song offers fans an early look at what to expect from his forthcoming EP, wasteLAnd, available Friday, August 7.

Written and produced by Crouse along with Todd Clark almost two years ago to the day, the song carries even more weight with challenges facing society today as the brooding vocals implore:

We’re just survivin’, we’re just survivin’ / All we’re gonna do is take it day by day / Survivin’”

“When Todd and I wrote this song back in 2018, I had no idea we’d be releasing it during a global pandemic and a global civil rights movement,” shares Crouse. “The world feels especially heavy right now, but I hope these songs help people feel less alone. Every morning I remind myself, ‘all we gotta do is take it day by day.’”

Now 27, Crouse was 17 years old when he decided to make the move to Nashville to pursue music professionally. He started playing dive bars and ended up opening for the likes of Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran on Swift’s RED Tour as well as four years on the road opening for Darius Rucker.

A formidable songwriter with distinctive vocals, Crouse garnered his first cut last year as a songwriter with “Wildfire Love” on Hootie & the Blowfish’s Imperfect Circle, written with Sheeran and Rucker. This month he lends those unique vocals to Warner Germany/Mentalo Music release “Broke,” an energetic dance pop track he wrote for Hamburg-based DJ and producer Wave Wave.

The Massachusetts native’s upcoming EP is a collection of seven songs that encapsulate his alt-rock sound and includes last fall’s powerful release, “On My Way,” named a “Song to Hear Now” by Rolling Stone. Co-written with Kyle Rife and global superstar Sheeran, who also supplies background vocals, the fan-favorite track has garnered over one million streams on Spotify to date with Sounds Like Nashville declaring it has “a pop-folk sound as welcoming as a warm hug.”

Along with “On My Way,” the EP also features a number of unreleased tracks in addition to “Survivin’” including “Sleeping Through My Dreams” and title-track “wasteLAnd.”
