Pollstar is reporting that Trent Tomlinson will be at the Washington County Fair in Abingdon, Va on Sept. 11. Trent was at the Gray fair in 2006 and 2007, and put on a great show both times. I’m already making plans to go to Abingdon in September.
The first Kingsport Funfest concert I’ve heard about is July 19, and that will be Little Big Town. That concert was also announced on Pollstar.
Dolly Parton will open her theme park, Dollywood, on March 21, and this will be the longest season for her park. In the past, the park has opened the first weekend in April. I took this photo at Dolly’s media day in 2005.
In addition to an appearance or two by Dolly, the park plays host to many of today’s top country entertainers. We’ll keep you posted as to who will be there throughout the Spring and Summer season.

I heard a rumor the other day that Disney is in negotiations to buy Dollywood. Have you heard that?

Thank you for your comment. I’m sure you had a little help writing it. *smile* I checked with Dollywood today and was told they have no plans of merging with Disney, or being sold to Disney.
But, if that does happen, and we get a Disney Theme Park close to home, perhaps I could introduce you to “Pluto”. I am sure you are a big fan of his.
