I can hardly believe it’s been about five months since I put up an article called "Randy Houser at Winged Deer Park…Part 1." But it has been. That article went up on June 17, 2008 – and I’ve been closely watching Randy’s career ever since.
Today, I listened to his debut CD, "Randy Houser Anything Goes," and I’ll have to admit,I listened to it more than once. The CD will be released to stores on Nov. 18, 2008, and it is really good. I knew before I listened that it would take a lot to replace "Anything Goes" on my ‘this is my favorite Randy song’ list. And, while that is still my favorite, ‘Something Real" is running a close second.
Some of the songs on this CD you can find on Randy’s web site, or you may have heard him perform those in a concert near you. So I was already familiar with "Boots On," and "Back to God", both of those are good, too.
The 11 songs on the CD are "I’ll Sleep," "How Many Times," "Paycheck Man," "Lie," "Strange," "My Kinda Country," "Something Real," "Boots On," "Anhting Goes," "Wild Wild West," and "Back to God."
I think everyone is going to enjoy this CD as much as I am. And, while you’re waiting for the CD to hit your stores, pick up this week’s issue of Country Weekly – it has Kenny Chesney on the cover, and an article on page 20 called "Who’s New" … and of course, it’s about Randy Houser.
Randy’s single is number 21 on Country’s Top 40, and I am sure we’ll see it continue to climb up the charts in the weeks to come.
Take care, and write soon – I’m actually getting close to having all of my mail answered! So now its your turn. Drop me an e-mail when you get a chance. Always great hearing from you.
