Rodney Adkins and Julianne Hough are now scheduled to join the Friday night concert lineup for the fourth annual Sprint Sound & Speed Celebration in Downtown Nashville. The event will be held Jan. 9-10, with Montgomery Gentry headline the concert. The event is a celebration of music and motorsports.
The two-day celebration brings together stars of NASCAR and country music for autographs, storytelling and question-and-answer sessions. Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Michael Waltrip are two of the NASCAR drivers scheduled to attend. And Randy Houser, Montgomery Gentry, Josh Turner, Jason Michael Carroll and Richie McDonald will be among the country music artists at the event. More are still to be announced.
The Sprint Sound & Speed celebration is a fund raising event, with proceeds going to Victory Junction (a year-round camping environment for children ages 6-16 with chronic medical conditions or serious diseases) and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
The first three Sound & Speed celebrations had an estimated 40,000 fans, and raised more than $800,000 for the charities. For more information about the event, click here.
This sounds like a great event for country music fans, and race fans. I’m sure the concerts will be great, and anyone who has ever attended a NASCAR event like Bristol Family Race Night (in Bristol, Tenn.) knows how much fun it is to get close to your favorite driver.
That’s all for this time. I’ll talk to you all soon. Right now, I’m going to try to get my e-mail caught up, I know I owe a lot of you an answer! Write when you can. I love your letters!
