People magazine posted a birth announcement on their web site today. Jo Dee Messina and her husband, Chris Deffenbaugh, had a baby boy at 1:01 p.m. today (Monday, Jan. 19), at a hospital near Nashville. Noah Roger Deffenbaugh weighed in at 6 pounds 15 ounces. This is their first child.
Chris and Jo Dee were married in October 2007. Jo Dee told People that they knew they wanted to have kids…Whenever it happens, it happens. Well, it has happened, and Jo Dee plans to take her new son on tour with her this April. It will be a solo tour, and she will be promoting her new album, Unmistakable.
According to the People article, Chris is quite the craftsman, and has built a handmade crib and changing table for Noah. I bet that is beautiful! Chris owns Deffenblaster Enterprises. they custom build road cases. (I went to Deffenblaster Enterprises site, and hoped to see stuff like beautiful homemade cribs and changing tables – but what I found was apparently what they specialize in … road cases. For guitars, clothes, ties and other stuff).
Jodi has a few tour dates on listed, beginning with the April 16 show in Verona, NY. at turning Stone Casino and Resort. She’ll move over to Westbury, N.Y. on April 17, for a performance at Capital One Bank Theater. On April 18, it’ on to Penn’s Peak in Jim Thorpe, Pa., and then on the 19th up to Ridgefield Playhouse in Ridgefield, Conn. These shows are one right after the next, so I hope in addition to taking little Noah on tour with her, that she’s giving some thought to a Nanny.
Here’s my favorite Jo Dee Messina song, written by one of my favorite singer/songwriters, Phil Vassar.
That’s all for now. Congratulations to Jo Dee and Christopher. I’ll talk to you guys a little in the morning before I head to the office. Have a good night, stay warm, and try not to shovel too much of that fluffy white stuff (It’s still coming down in Northeast Tennessee). And write soon, I have my mail just about caught up… so you might actually hear from me a little sooner than usual.
