I’ve always liked Colin Raye. I got to see him entertain at the Appalachian Fair in Gray a few years ago. I got to meet him. And I found that in addition to being a great entertainer, he was also a very pleasant person, and very nice to talk to.
Colin recently finished his first album in five years. and he says his best days are now. He spent 30 years doing what everyone else wanted, he said. His new style is what he wants to be – himself. He said he feels like this is the most completely=-me music he’s ever made. “Never Going Back,” will be out this spring. “I feel like this is the music, the album, I was born to make,” Colin said.
Colin is touring with Restless Heart, and considers them to be “country music’s Eagles.” They will take the stage at Twin Oaks Amphitheater at Silver Springs in Ocala, Fla., on Saturday night. I’m not familiar with that place, but a search on Google tells me it is “Nature’s Theme Park, with national music acts, live animal exhibits, glass bottom boat rides, and nature tours.” Neat.
I think my favorite song of his has to be “Love, Me.” But I really enjoy all of his music. His “I Can Still Feel You” was a number one hit for Colin.
He has a lot of concert dates up on his web page, including Valentine’s Day at the Wagon Wheel in Warsaw, Ind. March 6 and 7, he will be at South Point Casino in Las Vegas, and March 22, he will be in Meadville, Pa., at Allegheny College. that one is also with Restless Heart.
And, since I said this is my favorite Colin Raye song, let’s finish off with the video for “Love, Me.”
That’s all for now. I’ll talk to you guys tomorrow. Have a fantastic Friday!
