Martina McBride sang the National Anthem at the Tennessee Titans game last Saturday. The Titans lost to the Baltimore Ravens 13-10. But Martina has a pretty good track record when it comes to her opening the game. Before that Titan loss, Martina sang the anthem at 31 games, and of those 31 games – the home team won 26. Not bad for a good luck charm. Unfortunately, it didn’t work to the Titans advantage.
Maybe she will do better on Sunday, when she sings the National Anthem to open the Pittsburg Steelers game. This is the AFC Championship game, and the Steelers will be playing the Baltimore Ravens.
I spent just a little time on Martina’s MySpace page. She’s a blogger. I love entertainers who blog. You get to feeling like they’re really talking to you. And that’s totally cool. But I actually went there looking for some concert dates. Because other than the Steelers game on Sunday, I’m not sure where we’ll find Martina next. I like what she said in her blog about the Titans…”I also wanted to say how honored I was to get to sing our National Anthem at the Titans/Ravens game on Saturday. I was so excited! I’m disappointed that we aren’t heading to the playoffs, but our Titans had a great season and we’ll get ’em next year!”
I know we’ve been talking about football and the National Anthem, but I like this one better. It’s Martina’s performance at the Rose Bowl Parade (back in 2002), singing “God Bless America.” She’s awesome. Enjoy!
that’s all for now. I’ll talk to you all later. Have a good day!
