I just got through watching another awards show. I like awards shows. I especially like the People’s Choice awards because people like you and me get to vote for our favorites. I like that they called them favorites (instead of winners). And I think we (all of us who actually voted) made the right choices.
Carrie Underwood was selected favorite female singer. And Rascal Fatts were again the favorite duo or group. And of course I wasn’t at all saddened by the fact that Carrie and Rascal Flatts both performed on the show. So all in all, it was a fun thing to watch for me.
I said I enjoy watching awards shows, and I do. Most of them. But there are getting to be so many, I wonder if they aren’t losing a little of their importance (at least in the eyes of the viewer). I’m quite certain that as long as Toby Keith, Trace Adkins and some of our other great country entertainers are selling out their concerts, they probably don’t really care about the awards. They know they have fans, and they don’t need an award to know we’re buying tickets to their shows and putting their CD’s in our players at home and in the car.
Like I said a million times – you gotta love YouTube! Here’s Carrie’s performance from tonight’s People’s Choice awards show. Coming direct to you from YouTube.
Time for me to get some sleep – they’re calling for snow. If we get it, I’ll need to be up and out of the house early to slide into the office. You guys sleep well – talk to you tomorrow.
