I’ve been telling you for some time now that we’re picking up some ‘tentative’ information on area fairs for this fall and summer. So far for our Fair in Gray, we have only Jimmy Wayne confirmed, he will take the stage on Aug. 26.
Other entertainers, all tentatively scheduled but none confirmed, include Eli Young Band, Lost Trailers and Lady Antebellum.
Lady Antebellum opened for Jason Aldean last May at Viking Hall in Bristol, Tenn. that was a great show. I know Hillary, Charles and Dave will pull in quite a crowd. I’ve never seen any of the other entertainers on this year’s tentative schedule for Gray, but I love Eli Young Band, so I’m pretty anxious about that one.
Washington County has four nights confirmed, according to Pollstar. Charter’s Chord will be Monday, Sept. 15; Zac Brown Band, Sept. 16; Heidi Newfield, Sept. 17; and Keith Anderson on Sept. 18.I’ve seen Heidi and Keith before, and may go back to see both of them again this year. It’s been a few years since I’ve seen Keith- but Heidi was at least year’s Appalachian Fair.
I’ll be sure to get these up again for you, with the nights they are scheduled, as soon as everything is confirmed.
In addition to the fairs in Gray, Tenn., and Abingdon, Va., we also have Knoxville, Greeneville, and Lebanon, Tenn. (close by); as well as Haywood County, NC, and several others just over the mountain. I’ll keep my eye out for entertainment schedules for those fairs as well. In the mean time, start saving your gas money, and get ready for a little local traveling.
If any of you get schedules for fairs in your area, even if they aren’t in Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, or Western North Carolina – I’d love to hear from you. I may not be able to attend, but I will be sure to get them up here for readers in your area who might be able to take in a night or two. I know places like Allentown and Meadville, Pa., have huge fairs, so if any of you in those areas hear something, please pass it on to me.
I’ll talk to you guys soon – and unless I get a whole bunch of e-mail during the day today, I’ll get everything I owe answered tonight. I really appreciate all of you being so nice. I do work full time, so it’s not always easy to get my mail answered the day it comes in, but I think I’m getting a little better with it. So keep writing! Because I love hearing from each of you, and I do eventually get your mail answered.
