On Friday night, March 6, more than 4,500 Jason Aldean fans joined him at the Knoxville Coliseum, to be included in the live taping for a concert DVD. The DVD was shot in high-definition, and will be released later this year. I didn’t get to the taping, but several of my friends did, so we have pictures! The one on the left is probably the first one I’ve ever seen of Jason without his hat!
Jason said that making a live DVD has been a dream of his for years. In an interview with The Boot, Jason said “Now feels like the perfect time to do it because we’ve just added several new songs from the new album to the set list”. Jason also said in the interview that he was excited to shoot it in Knoxville because you “can’t find a more fun crowd.” Really? I don’t live in Knoxville, and I’m fun. “They are young and always come ready to party,” he added. (OK, so I haven’t seen young for a long time, I’m still fun.)
Jason’s third album, “Wide Open,” is set for release on April 7. His latest hit,”She’s Country” is MySpace’s most streamed country song that’s currently on the Top 40 chart. That song is also one of the most downloaded country songs on iTunes (according to The Boot).
Jason is going to be in Kansas City, Mo., on March 13, at Ameristar Casino. He moves to Miami, Okla., on March 14, for a show at Buffalo Run Casino; and then takes off for the west coast. He will be in Hollywood, Calif., at the House of blues on St. Patrick’s Day; Chumash Casino in Santa Ynez, Calif. on March 19, Konoch Field Amphitheater in Kelseyville, Calif., on March 20, Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif., on March 21, and close out California with a show in Redding on March 22. That one at the Redding Convention Center.
He has a list on his web site with concert dates through the middle of September, so be sure to check there and find out when Jason is coming close to you. A lot of those shows still have Meet & Greet passes available, so get your request in early!
I can’t leave without thanking Brittany and April for these pictures that they took at the Knoxville show on Friday. And of course, since this seems to be Jason Aldean Day – let’s give you a little Amarillo Sky!
Better run for now. Talk to you guys later.
