On Friday afternoon, Bucky Covington made a stop at WXBQ Radio in Bristol, Va., to visit with Marc Tragler, and the devoted Bucky fans who showed up at the station when they heard his live interview on the radio. I had the chance to meet Bucky when he was in Abingdon, Va., and it doesn’t surprise me that he was sweet enough to hang out with the fans at the station.
Bucky was on his way to Pigeon Forge, Tenn., to film a segment for GAC. I don’t know for sure what he was going to film, but what he said was that we were all to come on down to Pigeon Forge, look for him and his tour bus, and get in on this. He was doing kind of a ‘man on the street’ thing. Talking to people, finding out who recognized him – things like that.
That sounds like it would have been a really fun day. It will be interesting to watch the GAC program when it airs, and find out exactly what Bucky was talking about, and to see just exactly how that Pigeon Forge taping turned out. If I had not been hobbling around on crutches, swallowing one pain pill after the next, I most likely would have been part of the crowd in Pigeon Forge on Saturday (April 25).
I love Pigeon Forge anyway – you know the kind of place… Dollywood, gift shops, theaters, restaurants, go-karts…just about everything. So I’m sure it would have been a great Saturday in the Smoky Mountains. Maybe next time.
I think that’s all for now. I just wanted to get a few photos up here for you to see from Bucky’s little visit to Bristol on Friday. And a few of the fans that stopped by to visit wit him.
You guys keep your eye on GAC’s schedule to find out when they’re going to air whatever it is they shot on Saturday. I’m going to keep my eye on everything coming up, because if this ever happens again (and I happen to have two good feet at the time), I don’t want to miss being part of it!
Now here’s a little bit of Bucky for you all – it’s his first, and probably my favorite, Bucky song … “Different World.”
I’ll talk to you all a bit later. This has been one extremely busy week (already). And I have a whole lot to do before the week is over. I’ll talk to you all real soon! Have a great Thursday.
