With the CMA Music Festival just two months away, this seemed like a good time to update the entertainment list for this year’s event. Tickets for the individual nightly stadium concerts will go on sale this Saturday.
The tickets are $40 for reserved seats on the lower and club levels, and $30 for general admission in the upper deck of LP Field. "In these tough economic times, the single night ticket prices are really a bargain for music fans," said Tammy Genovese, CMA Chief Executive Officer. "The caliber of artists performing is unparalleled, and the price is unbeatable. It is a great evening of family entertainment."
Concerts dates posted so far are as follows: Thursday, June 11 – Dierks Bentley, Brooks & Dunn, Julianne Hough, Reba McEntire and Brad Paisley; Friday, June 12 – Jason Aldean, Rodney Atkins, Luke Bryan, Lady Antebellum, Jake Owen and Zac Brown Band; Saturday, June 13 – Trace Adkins, Jack Ingram, Jamey Johnson, Martina McBride and Lee Ann Womack; and, Sunday, June 14 – Miranda Lambert, Montgomery Gentry, John Rich and Taylor Swift.
If those of you who live in Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia or Western North Carolina can’t make it to Nashville in June, there are a few names on that list you will be able to catch in our area on July, August and September. Luke Bryan will be at FunFest in Kingsport in July; Lady Antebellum is on the Appalachian Fair lineup this year; and Jake Owen and Zac Brown Band will be at Washington County Fair in Abingdon, Va., in September. I don’t have anything on Haywood County Fair in North Carolina, or Tennessee Valley Fair in Knoxville yet, but we’ll get those up as soon as I do.
We’re only about six weeks away from Sugarland and Billy Currington at Freedom Hall in Johnson City, Tenn., too. That’s going to be a great show. We’ve also got our Relay For Life benefit concert coming up on May 5, right here in Erwin, Tenn. Anyone interested in attending that event can call 423-743-4112, or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
Here’s a clip from I believe the 2007 CMA Music Fest. It’s Taylor Swift, singing “Tim McGraw.”
Time for me to head to the office. You guys enjoy your Tuesday, and remember to watch Oprah today, and Dancing with the Stars tonight, it’s country day on television! Write when you can!
