When I was 10 years old, I sent in a letter to Teen Screen magazine, to have my name and address listed in their Pen Pal section. I don’t know why I remember that, but I do. And one of the things I remember was what I wrote in the “Tell Us Something About You” section. I wrote that I enjoyed swimming, pets, reading, and I loved Conway Twitty.” Even back then, I knew what I liked.
Hard to believe that Conway has been gone nearly 16 years (June 5, 1993), but his memory is being kept alive with the musical, “Conway Twitty: The Man, The Music, The legend, The Musical,” the story of the singer as told by his children. If you’re even a little bit of a Conway fan, you really need to visit the website for the musical. The web site includes news, a schedule of where and when the show will be playing, photos, and even a store, full of cool Conway stuff.
I am really going to have to find out when this show might be coming somewhere near me!
Country Standard Time is reporting that the production has added country singer Elizabeth Cook to the cast. She will portray one of Conway’s daughters, Joni Twitty, in the musical. “We are thrilled to have Elizabeth Cook join our musical family,” said Joni Twitty, Conway’s daughter. She is an extremely talented woman who’s southern charm and beautiful voice will be a great addition to our amazing cast.”
I went to Elizabeth’s MySpace page and listened to some of her music. I can definitely understand why she would be selected to be a part of the on-stage Twitty family. I really like her voice.
Hope you guys will check out the web site, and visit Elizabeth’s home page and MySpace page. Here’s a clip of Elizabeth singing “Mama’s Prayers’”. This young lady is definitely country. I like her.
i better get out of here for now. I have a lot to work on today. I’ll talk to you all real soon! Write when you get a minute. Let me know what’s going on where you live!
