Back on Feb. 26, 2009, I put up a little article about the movie, “Provinces of Night”, a new movie to be filmed in Wilmington, N.C., with Toby Keith, Kris Kristofferson, and Hillary Duff. Unfortunately for Toby fans, the movie will be made — but without him in in.
(The photo at the is from rehearsal for last Sunday night’s ACM award show. It was up with a report about the movie changes that you can read here.)
If you have to pull out of a project, I can’t think of a better than to entertain our troops in Afghanistan, and that’s what Toby will be doing. Although this wasn’t stated as something definite, Toby did say that he thinks Val Kilmer and Dwight Yoakam will replace Kris Kristofferson and him in the new movie. Hillary Duff will remain in the cast.
Am I the only one who wanted to see another Toby Movie? I liked Broken Bridges, and Beer For My Horses was pretty much what I thought it would be. For sure Toby always looks great on the big screen.
I’ve been a Toby fan for a very long time. I was glad to see him nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year at this year’s ACM’s. Toby seems to be left off of the nominee list a lot – but that’s ok. I’m not sure how the artists feel, but as for me, I think the important part for these guys is knowing they’re making their fans happy. As long as they sell out their concerts, have fans buying their CD’s, and requesting their songs on the radio – I don’t know if they really care how many little awards they have in their house.
Be sure to check out Toby’s concert dates – he has them up on his web site from mid-June through mid-September. He’s pretty much spread out across the country, so Toby fans, head on over there and see when he’s coming to your back yard.
Since we’ve been talking about movies, I wanted to include this little interview that Toby did when he was promoting “Broken Bridges.” I don’t know where it was taped, or w ho the interviewer is, but here’s the clip.
Have a great Saturday. Talk to you soon!
