Today is Memorial Day, the first official day of summer. I know a lot of folks who are heading to the lake for a day of boating or fishing. Area swimming pools are opening for the summer, and do you know anyone who isn’t having a picnic?
But in the midst of all that, I hope you will all remember what Memorial Day is all about. It’s to remember and honor those brave men and women who fought in our wars to keep all of us living in a free country.
PBS television stations across the country are broadcasting the National Memorial Day Concert, from the lawn of the Nation’s Capitol today. The concert is an annual tradition to honor all service men and women. Country music fans will enjoy seeing Trace Adkins on the program. He’s an awesome entertainer, and this is a very moving performance.
Check your local television listings to find out when you can sit down, relax, and watch the entire special. And again, have a great holiday.
