A while back I put up the list of highest grossing country acts, according to Forbes magazine. That’s definitely not something I read every day, but I think it’s one of those financial business kind of publications. At any rate, they had Taylor Swift at number four on the list at an estimated $18 million.
Taylor has a lot lot going on in her career. Her sophomore album sold 2.1 million copies last year. And she’s got a huge tour, with a sell out at nearly every city scheduled. And the ones that aren’t sold out probably will be between now and concert night.
Seems Taylor has found time to get a little television into her schedule, too. She will be on the Today show on May 29, as part of the Today Summer Concert Series. And, on May 31, at 7 p.m., Taylor will be on NBC again on the special, “Dateline: On Tour With Taylor Swift.”
This will be a one-hour special featuring behind-the-scenes access to Taylor’s summer tour. Her Fearless 2009 Tour is her first headlining concert event. The special was shot on three continents over a three month period, and will give everyone a look at everything that goes on backstage, including interview with Taylor, her band and crew, and exclusive looks at her tour dressing room, crew meetings, dancer auditions and concert performances.
I’ve already got it marked on my calendar. I think it’s going to be a great special. And, if I can get myself ready for work quick enough on May 29, I might be able to sit in front of the TV for a few minutes and watch the Today Summer Concert to see her there that day, too.
Here’s a Taylor video for you guys. I’m not exactly sure what it is, but it’s cute.
Today is Saturday, May 16, and I have a Strawberry Festival to go to. It’s a local event in the Town of Unicoi, and it’s always a fun day. I’m going to work it a little bit. we’ve got a booth set up to sell t-shirts and a few other things to raise money for our Relay For Life team. There’s entertainment, lots of people selling things, and of course – a whole lot of strawberries!
I’ll talk to you all real soon! Thanks for the mail!
