The tourism people for the Commonwealth of Virginia use the slogan, “Virginia is for Lovers,” on a lot of their “Come Visit Virginia” television advertisements. But for country music fans, the ad campaign people could pretty much zero in on Virginia Beach, and make their slogan read “Virginia Beach is for Concert Lovers.”
Thanks to the folks at Dixie 105.7, we have the schedule of shows at the Verizon Wireless Virginia Beach Amphitheater from June 12 through July 24, and they have some fantastic country entertainment on that schedule. George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith and Brad Paisley will be in concert at the Verizon Wireless Virginia Beach Amphitheater in the weeks ahead.
And of course, going to those shows would include the opportunity to see Blake Shelton and Julianne Hough (with George); Miranda Lambert and Lady Antebellum (with Kenny); Trace Adkins (with Toby); and Dierks Bentley and Jimmy Wayne (with Brad). How great would that be!
I’ve been fortunate to have already seen just about every one of those entertainers in concert, except Julianne Hough and Jimmy Wayne – and I’ll be seeing him this August at our Appalachian Fair.
The information below is from the concert page on the web site from Dixie 105.7 radio, in Nags Head, N.C. The 100,000 watt radio station reaches the Outer Banks in N.C., and all the way up into Virginia.

I’m hoping to have some pictures up here soon from Darius Ruckers’s concert at Roanoke Island Festival Park in Manteo, N.C. (Friday, May 29). Autumn Kozer, who does the morning program Around The Breakfast Table, at Dixie 105.7, attended the show and should be sending me pictures soon.]
Autumn, along with Joe Wade Formicola, can be heard every weekday morning from 6 a.m.-10 a.m., and if you’re out of their listening area, you can still listen live by going to their web site, and clicking on “Listen Live.” If you listen to Autumn and Joe Wade, and you like ‘em — you can call and let them know! The number is 252-441-4566. Be sure to tell them Country sent you!
I’ll talk to you guys soon. Have a great rest of your Sunday!
