Walker, Minn., will hold their third annual Moondance Jammin Country Fest at the Moondance Campgrounds, beginning tonight. There seem to be more and more events like this popping up all over the country – and I for one would like to be a part of every single one of them.
This event is announcing that they still have both tickets and camping available. Artists to appear at the event include Kenny Rogers, Jason Aldean, Montgomery Gentry, Phil Vassar, Little Big Town, Rodney Atkins, Jason Michael Carroll, and a whole lot more. Kenny Rogers will headline on Thursday, Jason Aldean on Friday, and Montgomery Gentry on Saturday.
Kenny Rogers has been a part of country music for as long as most of us can remember. He his career spans 50 years, and he has three Grammy Awards, 70 hit singles, and more than 420 individual weeks on U.S. charts alone.
Jason Aldean has come a long way in a big hurry. I’m glad to see he’s headlining one of the nights at this event. I’ve seen Jason in concert, and I know the people who visit Moondance will be seeing a fantastic show.
There isn’t much I can say about Montgomery Gentry. While a press release about this event said they have been “mainstays in country music for the last 10 yerars,” it just seems like there music has always been a part of country! I saw them twice, once when they performed at a local fair, and a second time when they opened for Toby Keith in Knoxville. Both shows were great!
If any of you are planning to attend this event, you have a wide variety of options for tickets and campsites. There is a two-day weekend pass being offered, which gets guests in for Friday and Saturday’s Jammin’ Country Fest for $119 or $158 with camping in the general camp ground. Three-day general admission tickets are $150 and single day tickets are $80. They are also offering VIP and Rockstar All Access tickets, but those are in limited supply. And, they range in price form $375 to $920. (More than a little out of my price range.)
Ne sure to visit their web site for everything you need to know about this great event. You’ll also find names of other entertainers and the performance schedule. Or you can call, 1-877-MOONJAM.
We’re going to close this one with Rockie Lynne’s “You Can Put Your Lipstick On While I Drive.” (I think it’s just called “Lipstick”.) I always liked that song. This is from a previous Moondance Jammin Country.
If any of you get to attend any or all of this event, let me know how it was. I need to learn to plan my vacations around summer festivals! Talk to you all soon.
