Here’s a little update to this morning’s post about Billy Currington at Big Valley Jamboree in Alberta, Canada, when the strong winds caused the stage to collapse, just as Billy was leaving the stage and Kevin Costner was getting ready to come on stage.
Billy put this picture up on Twitter, showing his black eye, received when he was hit in the head by falling debris. Billy wrote, “The boys and I are very grateful to be home and for life itself. We thank you for your prayers and concerns and will see you on the road again soon.”
Billy also comments from his home in Nashville, "my heart goes out to the family of Donna Moore who was killed and all of the other fans who were hurt on Saturday."
So far, the problem with the show in Canada hasn’t caused any changes in Billy’s concert schedule. So those of you in Sikeston, Mo., can look for Billy at Jaycee’s Betheel Rodeo Ground on Aug. 6. He’s heading to Indianapolis, Ind., for a show at the Indiana State Fairgrounds on Aug. 7, and then over to the Wisconsin State Fair in West Allis, Wisc., on Aug. 8. On Aug. 9, he will be in Pontiac, Mich., at the Phoenix Center, before taking a few days off.
Be sure to check his web site for the complete list of shows. We’re all glad that Billy and his band, and Kevin and his band weren’t more seriously injured.
I’ll talk to you all real soon. I have to get busy with e-mail right now.
