I really enjoy Dancing with the Stars. I have since the very first season. I can’t believe that show is in it’s ninth season! Where does the time go! When Julianne Hough announced last year that she wouldn’t be back for this season, I didn’t really think I’d miss her. They still had a lot of really good dancers, and I was ready for the show. But when it started Monday night, I realized I do miss her. Just something about that bouncy, bubbly personality that definitely added to the show’s appeal.
But, I think she probably made a good decision. Julianne has a lot of things lined up. She’ll be continuing to tour, work on her music career and a new album, and she has the movie “Footloose” coming up soon, too. The movie is a remake of the 1984 film, and she will be starring opposite Chance Crawford.
Julianne did tell Toledo’s KISS FM that she hasn’t closed any doors, and “I definitely want to come back at some point, whether it’s to do the results show when they have the artist come on and then dance. I’m sure I’ll do something this season.” Great! I’ll definitely be one of the many Julianne/country music fans looking forward to that appearance.
The singer also said she wants her second album to be better representative of her as an artist, than her first album that was released last year. “i just felt like my first one, which was great for the time that we had, it wasn’t true to who I was," she admits. "It was very lighthearted and just kind of thrown together. So this time around, I really want to focus on my music. This is where my heart is, and this is where I want my career to take me for the next 40, 50 years. They’ve been really great. It was definitely something we had to talk about for quite a while, but it was wonderful. They are wonderful people."
I spend a lot of time reading the web sites of my favorite entertainers. I like seeing where they’ve been on tour, and where they’re heading next, and making mental notes (if not real paper and pencil notes) about when they’re coming anywhere near me…. and I did the same thing with Julianne last night. She’s going to be in Albequerque, N.M. tonight at the New Mexico State Fair; then Colorado tomorrow night at Cowboy’s in Colorado Springs; Then the next night she goes to River City Round-up in Omaha, Neb.
On Sept. 30, she will be in Uncasville, Conn., and in Verona N.Y. on Oct. 1, at Turning Stone Casino. With Florida, Georgia, Arkansas and Texas during the next few weeks, I’ll finally get my chance to catch her on Oct. 22, when she does Cotton Eyed Joes in Knoxville on Oct. 22. (Making that mental note here). If you want to know where else Julianne will be, be sure to check out the tour schedule on her web site.
I think that will do it for this morning. I’m running later – seems I’m always late anymore – and I have a lot to do. So I’ll talk to you guys later. You have a great day. It’s Wednesday! Almost a weekend again. Write when you get a chance – I’ll do the same!
Love you guys!
