How would you like to have an article of clothing worn by one of your favorite country entertainers? You’ve got that opportunity now by bidding on an autographed shirt, hat, skirt, jacket, slacks, or other item donated by some of country music’s biggest stars.
The auction is a fund raiser for Porter’s Call, a nonprofit ministry of counsel, encouragement and support for recording artists and their families. Be sure to visit their web site to learn more about Porter’s Call, exactly who they are, and what they do.
Some of the items you can bid on include a pair of Alan Jackson’s autographed jeans and a photo; a pair of Keith Urban’s autographed jeans; Brad Paisley autographed T-shirt and hat; and a Reba McEntire autographed shirt.
There are also other items (not clothes) being offered at the auction, Amy Grant and Vince Gill have both offered autographed photos and lyrics; Tim McGraw autographed a Baby Taylor Guitar; Brad Paisley autographed music package; Sara Evans autographed photo and CD; and even Tennessee Titans/Buffalo Bills tickets and parking passes.
You can see all the items and place your bid at Porter’s Call web site, by clicking here. The auction started on Sept. 14, and bids are being accepted through Sept. 30. I was at the site last night, and there are not a lot of bids there yet. I plan on getting my bids in, to help this great organization, and hopefully grab a little autographed country music stuff!
While we’re on that subject, remember that tonight is the first night for “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader,” where you will get to see Big Kenny, Heidi Newfield, Bucky Covington, Jack Ingram and Emily West play for their favorite charities. The show will air at 8 p.m., every night this week, on CMT. If you missed the article I had up about that, here on Country’s Chatter, you can click here to read it.
I better go. I had a very busy weekend, and now I need to get myself ready for an even more busy work week! You guys take care – have a great Monday (if there really is such a thing as a great Monday)… and I’ll talk to you all soon. Drop me a line when you get a minute!
