Last night the Muppets were on television. They had a Christmas special on called “Letters to Santa.” I’m not sure why I had it on – probably because it came on right after Jeopardy, and I didn’t have the remote. But whatever the reason, I did see a little of it. I know I’m not much of a singer, but after watching that show I realized I sing better that the Muppets, and the only reason I’m not famous is because I’m not short and furry – well, I’m short, but I refuse to grow fur.
At any rate – it’s definitely Christmas special time – we’ve already seen the lighting of the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Plaza in New York City, and I’m sure a lot of you have noticed that you can get one Christmas movie after the next on the Hallmark channel I love Christmas movies. I enjoy most of those.
However, there is one Christmas special I’m waiting for, and that will air on Monday, Dec. 7, at 9 ET on FOX. It is Carrie Underwood’s All-Star Holiday Special. The network says Underwood will perform new music from her upcoming album, previous hits and holiday classics. Musical guests will include Dolly Parton, Brad Paisley and David Cook
Like most variety type shows, in addition to Carrie singing, and songs by her musical guests – there will also be some comedy bits, and I’m sure a lot of other entertainment to fill the two hour program.
You can click here to see clips of several different parts of the special. Then you can write the date and time on your calendar, because I’m sure you won’t want to miss this show.
Sometimes we just can’t talk about Carrie without bringing up that huge dress she wore during the ACM award show in April 2009. I actually liked the dress. I realize she couldn’t walk in it, and it just wasn’t really practical for any event (can you imagine going to dinner in that outfit). But I did like it. It just worked for that performance that night. The dress has since moved into the Country Music Hall of Fame Museum in Nashville, and now it’s on the cover of the 2010 World Almanac
Here’s a video from YouTube of Carrie on Oprah. I think Carrie is a great talk show guest. (If the video is a little slow starting, just give it a few seconds, thanks.)
I need to go start my Saturday. I hope you guys all have a great weekend. Get a little more Christmas shopping done, and address a few cards. Maybe just relax a while – but do what works for you… And I’ll talk to you real soon!
