On Oct. 31, 2008, I put up a post about Country Crossing in Houston County, Ala. That release was about the groundbreaking ceremony for the Dotham, Alabama resort. At that point, they were saying it would open in the Fall of 2009. So, they missed that a little bit … but they are now ready for their Grand Opening! and this is such an awesome place, If they want to put one in my neighborhood – I’m up for it!
The three day event will include Tracy Lawrence, Darryl Worley, Lorrie Morgan and John Anderson, who have all been part of the project since it began. In March, when I put up an article that the construction was still continuing, I mentioned that the complex would include Tracy Lawrence BBQ!, Lorrie Morgan Cafe, Worley Bird Cafe, and John Anderson Buffet. I’m sure I’m not the only one ready for a little Tracy Lawrence BBQ. And, they also have George Jones’ Possum Holler Bed and Breakfast.
The Grand Opening is free to the public – 20 artists will be there, live in concert, with a combined 66 No. 1 hits and 200 Top 10 hits, and more than 120 million albums sold. The grand opening is Jan. 15-17 … 3 nights only. Anyone close enough to be a part of this will have this to look forward to:
Friday, January 15: Saturday, January 16: Sunday, January 17: |
Bluegrass sensation, The Grascals, will also perform in the Worley Bird Saloon on Saturday night, Jan. 16.
Ronnie Gilley, President of Ronnie Gilley Properties, and Ronnie Gilley Entertainment, and the developer of country crossing said, “As we’ve said all along, Country Crossing will provide first-class country music entertainment and this lineup is just the beginning, Our grand opening will be nothing short of spectacular, and we are looking forward to many more great performances in the months and years to come.”
Be sure to visit Country Crossing’s web site. They have so much to see, and more coming – including photos of the entertainers restaurants, schedules of events, and you can even sign up for a newsletter to keep you informed about everything coming to Country Crossing.
I’m looking forward to visiting some time. And like I said earlier … if they want to build a Country Crossing II – I’d love to have it close to me!
Hope you all have a good Tuesday. Keep warm! And drop me a note when you get a minute! Love hearing form you!
