Joe Nichols is one of my favorites country artists. I know… I have a lot of favorites, but he’s definitely one of them He’s got the No. 1 song on radio right now, he’s done Broadway, he sent me a Christmas card this past Christmas, and I don’t think he’s ever done a song I don’t like. I’ve never seen him live, but I’m going to.
Joe will be in Gray, Tenn., on May 29, for an 8 p.m. show at the Appalachian Fair Grounds. No, it’s not fair time yet, but our local fair grounds definitely get used for a lot of other things, too.
This event will be the Battle of the Pigs BBQ & Car Show. This is the second year for the Battle of the Pigs. I didn’t go last year. But this year, I’ll find out what I missed. There are a lot of entertainers on the line up for this event, and of course – the barbecue, which includes a People’s Choice award.
And Joe is definitely keeping busy. I also received a press release telling me about Joe Nichols being the new face of Roper Apparel & Footware.
Roper Apparel and Footwear have announced that recording artist Joe Nichols will become the face of the brand, which, among other things, includes an extensive advertising and marketing campaign. The advertising campaign will kick off in May with a series of magazine ads, leading up to the CMA Music Festival in Nashville. Additionally the artist will be featured on Point-of-Purchase marketing materials in 1,100 retail stores nationwide.
Roper’s Marketing Director Kerry Vastine sees Nichols as a great fit for the Roper brand. “Joe embodies the traits of tradition, hard work and family; three things we feel define the Roper brand,” Vastine said. “We hope that this is just the beginning of a long and lasting relationship between Joe and Roper.”
Likewise Nichols sees the partnership as a good fit with his own personality and image. “I am very excited about my relationship with Roper and like the fact that this partnership developed naturally,” he said. “There are quite a few similarities in our attitudes toward our respective businesses, and I appreciate that. This partnership feels good, and I am happy to be a part of it."
In addition, Nichols will also participate in a number of autograph signings and in store appearances at Roper Retailers, beginning with the Roper booth at CMA Music Festival. The company also plans to offer several contest opportunities throughout the year.
Time to run. More later! You guys have a great Thursday!

DO you have the rest of the Gray lineup?
Joe is not one of the entertainers at the 2010 Appalachian Fair. He is doing a special show as part of the Battle of the Pigs & Car Show.
As for the Fair line up, all I know so far is that the fair will be from Aug. 23-28. I’m still trying to get the lineup, and as soon as I do I’ll get it posted for you. Thanks for reading, and thanks for your comment!
Better believe I’m gonna be there! Country, think there’s any chance of Joe maybe doing some meet and greets? I’d love to meet him!
