The Trailer Choir will be releasing their new CD “Tailgate” on July 6. I got a copy yesterday to review, and I liked what I was listening to. That actually surprised me a little bit, since “Rockin’ the Beer Gut” is definitely not one of my favorite songs. And that’s really the only song I know by this trio.
At least that was the only song I knew. I now know nine more songs by this very talented group. Let’s just say that I was very pleasantly surprised when I popped that CD into my player last night.
I really like the song “Rollin Through the Sunshine.” “Can’t Drink All Day” is a fast song – you know the kind, you just can’t help but sing right along with it. It really doesn’t even matter if you’ve listened to it long enough to learn the words. You’re singing anyway.
“Walmart Flowers and “Homemade Mexico” would both make good singles, and it’s pretty safe to say I really like the entire CD. I already told you that “Rockin’ the Beer Gut” isn’t one of my favorites though. And I’m afraid, “Off the Hillbilly Hook” isn’t either. But they can’t all be favorites. I really do think the album is good, and I know it is one I’m going to be listening to a lot.
I received a great bio with the CD, along with an 8 x 10 color photo. Very nice addition to any country music fan’s collection. Members of the Trailer Choir are lead singer and guitar player, “Butter,” Crystal, a very pretty blonde who knows how to sing harmony; and Big Vinny, the 382 pound singer, dancer, and generally fun guy to have around.
Butter, the bio says, is from Ashtabula, Ohio; Vinny is from Linden, Tenn.; and Crystal comes from Cheneyville, La. The bio, which you can read in it’s entirety on their website, begins with the sentence “Once you see the Trailer Choir in action, you’ll never forget the experience.” I can definitely believe that. Hope you guys are planning to come to my neck of the woods sometime soon! You can check out their show schedule here.
More later – You guys have a good Wednesday!
