Thanks to the folks over at WXBQ, we’ve got the list of movies for this year’s Lakeside Cinema. As most of you know, the movies are shown outside, next to the lake, at Winged Deer Park, every Thursday night in June. Coca-Cola, Food City Kids Club, and Johnson City Parks and Recreation, along with WXBQ make these movies possible every summer. And here’s your line-up.
Thursday, June 3, Spy Next Door. The movie is rated PG, and is about a former CIA spy, who takes on his toughest assignment to date, looking after his girlfriend’s three kids. One of the kids accidentally downloads a top-secret formula, a Russian terrorist pays a visit to the family.
It’s an Ice Abe movie on Thursday, June 10. Also rated PG, Ice Age – Dawn of Dinosaurs, finds life changing for Manny and his friends. Sid wants to begin a family of his own, and steals some dinosaur eggs, which leads to his ending up in a strange underground world, where his herd must rescue him, while dodging dinosaurs and facing danger.
The movie for Thursday, June 17, is Imagine That. Rated PG. I don’t know this movie, but it’s about a child’s imagination, and how she leads her dad to her imaginary world. The adventure showed him that he needed to redefine his meaning of success.
The fourth and final movie for this year will be Thursday, June 24. And, it’s one of my favorite. It’s Tim McGraw and Sandra Bullock in her Oscar-winning movie, The Blind Side. This is a great story, about a teenager living on the streets of Memphis, when Leigh Ann Tuohy finds him – ends up taking him in to her home, and the kid ends up on the defensive line for the Baltimore Ravens. A real life story, beautifully made into motion picture. It is rated PG-13. but it’s a great movie.
