I’m looking forward to the return of American Idol. I really like the show. I like seeing the talented kids form all over the country, and of course I like seeing some of the not-so-talented kids, who just want to get their turn on television…even if just for a few seconds.
One of the American Idol contestants from Season 7 was Kristy Lee Cook. I wasn’t surprised that she made it into the Top 10. I was surprised that we haven’t heard much from her since that season ended.
She did have a record deal a few years back, I think that was with Artisa. But she never really made a name for herself in the world of country music. Now, she has another shot. Kristy recently signed with broken Bow Records, which is also the home of Jason Aldean, Blake Wise, James Wesley and Krista Marie.
Her reality show is “Goin’ Country",” and it combines her love of horses, barrel racing, and hunting, and gives viewers a look into her daily life. I haven’t seen the show, don’t even know for sure where it is televised, but I did see a few YouTube short clips of the s how. And, since I’m not a fan of hunting and shooting deer – I really don’t think I would watch it anyway. For those of you who are interested, Goin’ Country has a web site, and you can check out the viewing schedule here.
But, I will listen to her music. I enjoyed her singing when she was on American Idol, and I’m anxious to hear what she has to offer in the months ahead. And I don’t mind telling you all that I would like to have her come to this area to perform – I’d definitely go see her.
Here is one of the many reasons I remember Kristy Lee Cook from American Idol. Following a brief chat with Kristy Lee, here is her version of Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the U.S.A.”.
That will do it for now. Drop me a line and let me know what you have been up to lately. I love hearing from each of you. Talk to you real soon!
