The last time I put something up on Country’s Chatter about The Band Perry, this was my opening paragraph:
“Someone laughed at me recently on Twitter, when I referred to The Band Perry as “the kids”. They are kids, and to that I can only add – very talented kids! They are singers, songwriters, and though I haven’t had the opportunity to see them live yet, my guess is they are also great entertainers. And, I’m claiming them as Northeast Tennessee’s own.”
We can now take out that part where it says “although I haven’t had the opportunity to see them live yet….” because last night, I did. And you know what? I was right. They are great entertainers.
Some people step out on a stage and it’s so obvious that they are doing what they were born to do. These three kids could not be anything but singers, songwriters, musicians, and fantastic entertainers. It’s easy to see that they were raised around music, it’s definitely in them.
They live in Greeneville, Tenn., not too far from the fairgrounds. The crowd tonight was huge. I haven’t heard the numbers yet, but I’m certain it was the biggest attendance night the fair had this year. I’m not sure there was a blade of grass left to stand on. The bleachers and the reserved seating area were nearly full, and people stood around the fenced in area, and up on the banks to watch the show. All of those people were there to see this great band. And, from the looks of that autograph line, they were also there to meet Kimberly, Neil and Reid.
I hope The Band Perry know how much everyone appreciated them hanging around after the show to sign autographs. The Meet & Greet before hand for family, friends and fans, the on-air interview with WXBQ’s Marc Tragler, and their out-going, friendly personalities were not taken for granted by anyone. It was nice getting to meet Mom, too. And kids (hope you don’t mind me calling you kids), thanks for the little extra time you gave Kaylee. You definitely brought some happiness to her, and I know she’s grateful.
It was a really fantastic show, and I am already to go see The Band Perry in concert again soon.I think it’s picture time, so sit back and enjoy. Here are a few shots of last night’s show.
Tonight is the last night for our local fair. After that, a little time to rest up – and then I have a lot of catching up to do here at Country’s Chatter. A lot of press releases have been coming in, and I really have a lot of e-mail to get answered.
I hope you all enjoy your Saturday! Talk to you soon!

It really was a great show. They all are amazingly personable and charming. I usually have Mom get her picture with various country singers alone, but Neil talked me into getting in the picture…not a small feat. Mom smiled and clapped her hands through the whole show. They made eye contact with the crowd more than any other act I’ve seen. Neil even tossed a pick to her. I will definitely see them again and get their album.
