Average Joes Entertainment’s Colt Ford joined legendary Hank Williams Jr. on the Rowdy Friends Tour this fall, but it was one night in particular that sticks out in his mind. (Photo courtesy of HankJr.com)
I saw Colt Ford in August, at our local Appalachian Fair. Any of you who read that review already know Colt and his fantastic band put on a great show! I can only imagine what kind of show it would be with Hank Williams Jr., Jamey Johnson, and Josh Thompson on the same bill.
I am definitely not a fan of rap music – country rap or any other kind of rap. So you can how pleasantly surprised I was when I saw Colt’s show this past August. He can definitely entertain the crowd. And every one of his fantastic band members makes the show even more enjoyable.
Here’s what Colt had to say about his recent Rowdy Friends Tour.
“I think it was the second night we were in Little Rock, and Jamey [Johnson] was heading on stage at end of the show to do “Family Tradition.” Jamey was like, ‘Come on Colt…go up with me.’ They gave me a mic and I walked out there. I was scared as hell. I just smiled like I had just won the lottery, but I didn’t say a word. Jamey gave me a hard time for not saying anything, but you have and ICON in Hank and a future icon in Jamey. What the heck was I gonna say?!? We did that every show for the whole tour, and the last night in Raleigh, North Carolina it happened. I was there and Jamey did his verse then Hank looked at me and said, ‘Go ahead Colt.’ I kinda made my own verse up, and it was one of the greatest things that will probably ever happen to me in music. I was on tour and on stage with a living legend and future legend in Jamey. All I can say is WOW, that was AWESOME! I can always say I was on tour with Hank Jr.!!!”
Gotta run. Have a great Tuesday, everyone! Drop me a line when you have a minute.
