Joe Nichols is going to provide the half-time entertainment at tomorrow afternoon’s AFC championship game, between the Pittsburg Steelers and the New York Jets. The game will be played at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Those of you who like football can tune into the game on CBS beginning at 6:30 p.m. (ET).
I just hope we get to see the half-time show on television. For some reason, every time I’m interested in what’s going on at half-time, they spend the entire time talking about football, and we never get a look at what’s going on on the field. Of course, the Superbowl is the exception to that general rule.
"I am a sports fanatic and being able to perform at halftime for the fans of the Steelers and the Jets is such a thrill for me," Joe said. "One of these teams will be going to the Super Bowl — enough said! So being able to pump the fans up, even more than they already will be, is my goal. Thanks to the Steelers’ organization for making it happen."
Joe is expected to sing several of his hits, including “The Shape I’m In.” That song, which is his latest Top 20 song, is part of his ‘Greatest Hits” collection, which will be released to stores everywhere on Tuesday, Jan. 25. His video for “The Shape I’m In” will be released on Monday, Jan. 24.
Be sure to turn the game on early, so you can catch Martina McBride singing the national anthem at the start of the event. Martina is pretty much a pro with the anthem – I’ve seen her do it before, and with the voice that lady has, you know it’s going to be good.
That’s all for right now. I think I’m going to a movie, then back to answer more mail.
Talk to you all soon!
