Retired U.S. Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell, author of the book Lone Survivor, inspired the Boot Campaign, which encourages Americans to purchase a pair of Army combat boots and wear them in support of our nation’s troops.
Some of our country music stars taking part in this campaign are George Jones, the Oak Ridge Boys, Charlie Daniels, Josh Turner, Joe Nichols, Gretchen Wilson, Justin Moore, Chuck Wicks Joey and Rory, and Jack Ingram. And, as you can probably guess, a lot of others.
Charlie Daniels chose the Boot Campaign to be a part of his annual charity event at the Nashville Palm. “I’ve never seen anything quite as unique as the Boot Campaign, and I’ve seen a lot,” said Daniels.
Proceeds from the boot sales are donated to partner charities, including Luttrell’s Lone Survivor Foundation. For more information about The Boot Campaign, visit the Boots Campaign web site.
There’s a great article about Joe Nichols and his participation in the Boot Campaign. It’s on their web site, and you can click here for to go directly to the page with that article.
Gotta say thank you to all of our country artists who take part in campaigns like this. And to those who travel overseas to entertain our troops.
I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday. I do believe I answered all my mail last night, and that means I’ll be looking for more! Drop me a line when you have a chance. Always look forward to hearing from each of you!
