Like most American Idol fans, whenever I hear the name ‘Casey James’ I immediately think “American Idol Finalist.” I wasn’t sure if Casey had a web site, or MySpace, or was on Twitter and Facebook. I should have just assumed that he did. But I asked, and a Twitter buddy told me where I could go to find out all I wanted to know about Casey James.
I liked him from his very first audition. I liked how he ‘flirted’ with Kara (or perhaps how she flirted with him), and I definitely liked his music. I wasn’t sure if he wanted to rock, or if he wanted to go country. But I loved anything he did that was even close to country music. And it looks like that’s the direction his career is going.
I learned so much about Casey by visiting C.E. James blog at wordpress. I’m not sure who is doing this blog, but it’s great. All of Casey’s fans need to visit this site for the latest updates about his music and his career. One of Casey’s fans, who follows me on Twitter (and took the three photos posted below), pointed me in the direction of this blog. Thanks Girl4Reba! Appreciate you helping me out with this.
Everything I learned from this blog really reminded me of a lot of the reasons I like this kid, and his music.
According to the news on this blog, Casey has been involved in Country Cares for St. Jude Kids, and was among a group of artists who toured St. Jude’s in Nashville this past week. All of you who have been reading Country’s Chatter since I started a little more than three years ago, know that these artists who give their time and talent to help organizations like St. Jude can always bring a smile to my face. I love that they are so caring and so giving, and always so willing to help out.
The most exciting news I found on this blog is that Casey will be opening for Sugarland on the March leg of The Incredible Machine Tour. Here are the dates and locations for that tour:
3/4 North Little Rock, AR
3/5 Tulsa, OK
3/10 Greenville, SC
3/11 North Charleston, SC
3/12 Jacksonville, FL
3/17 Grand Rapids, MI
3/18 Bloomington, IL
3/19 Sioux City, IA
The post on the blog about the tour has some great quotes from Casey. They talked to him about the tour, and about his new album. When asked if the new album will be considered country, rock, or blues, Casey said, “Yes, it will be all of that. I think I did a really good job of representing myself—my musical spirit—and voice on the show. If you think I’m bluesy, you’re right. If you think I’m country, you’re right. If you think I’m rock, you’re right. I guess my sound is kind of a Southern rock/blues/country mix. I’m really glad I get to continue representing it.”
Casey talked about his dogs, Buster and Daisy, who will not be going on tour with him. He also talked about keeping up with other Season 9 Idol contestants on Twitter.
Here’s a clip from American Idol. It’s Casey – singing Keith Urban.
That’s all for this morning. I hope you guys have a great Monday! Talk to you all soon. Drop me a line – let me know what you thought of the Grammy’s last night, and let me know what you think about American Idol so far this year!
More later!

Thank you so much, for coming to me via twitter and asking about a great guy who I REALLY believe in. Shari’s blog is extensive and so very well done. When you asked for official sites — I knew I had to point you in a fan run blog direction.
I’m thrilled to be a Casey fan and supporter — even more thrilled as a twitter buddy you would ask me for help. I love this boy! Seeing my pictures here highlighted from my Baltimore show, thrills me. Get ready NashVegas we have a new Cowboy in town. I’m thrilled and honored to have met Casey and I support him 100 percent.
Again, I thank you for your continued friendship and support of the artists I believe in. G4R
Hi! Nice article with one glaring exception…the video you’ve chosen to represent Casey’s talent has been tainted by useless & inaccurate critiquing. Casey’s performances during the AI tour are a much better representation of his exceptional talent. Check him out! 🙂

Can this boy rock or what?? 🙂
Casey is a fantastic singer and a great guitar player. Hope he has a great career. <3 your article. Love Casey's look like he kinda felt sorry for Randy. hahaha!!! <3
Casey James is amazing. My husband and I got VIP tickets and we are going to see Casey James specifically– wouldn’t be going at all if he were not performing. We’re hoping he’ll be playing some of his new songs.
This guy is so over rated. Biggest claim to fame is stripping off his shirt so he can go on a reality TV show. Definitely not exactly the brightest guy in town.
I wish Casey the very best!!! I can’t wait for his album!
@Mike: Seemed like you only got to see him on auditions taking his shirt off. Afterwards, you posted on this article and say he is over-rated. Sorry Gary Overton and Sony people think he is more than the guy who stripped, I’m more than certain they know better 🙂
I tell you Casey James s one of the finest new artist that has hit this side of country. He has a uniue voice like no other. I can’t wait until he willD release his CD. America will be amazed.
@Mike ~ We’re here to make a believer out of you. He’s been called “the real deal” so many times, I can’t count them. I suggest you check out a couple of his videos and then tell us what you think. Start with this one. (1 & 2 are both on youtube)
Casey James has so much charisma, talent and overall star quality, aside from his good looks. He will be country’s newest rising star — and I believe he is headed straight to the top. My sister and I bought tickets for one of the Sugarland March shows and I too did it specifically to see Casey James!!!
I was never a big fan but there’s been a bit more hype than usual, so I’m willing to believe he’s improved and really has a good sound (not wooden). I’ll wait til he proves it to check him out though.
Casey James is awesome! Found my fav shirt and had to get buttons for my friends!! http://www.cafepress.com/caseyjamesrocks
