I got a press release about one of my favorite artists – Chris Young. The release was to let me, and all of you , know that Chris’ new single, “Tomorrow” entered Billboard’s Digital Country Songs chart at No. 8.
I wasn’t really surprised when I read this. I love this song. It’s been getting a lot of air time on our local country station, and I wait for it to come on. According to the press release, “Tomorrow” will be spinning on “50 country stations next Monday.” We’ve already got it – so if the country station in your area isn’t playing it yet, try mine.
WXBQ radio, the only one I listen to, is in Bristol, Va. And this is always a good time for me to remind all of you that you can listen to it too. They’re online, and on-live. Just go to their website, and click on ‘Listen Live.” It’s in the upper left hand corner, and jumps right off the screen at you – you won’t have to look around for it.
I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Chris several times, and meeting him. He puts on a great show, loves his fans, and is one of those really nice people I’ve had an opportunity to meet. I love it when I get press releases about artists that I enjoy so much – and I get to pass their news along to you. Here’s the press release about Chris for all of you .
GRAMMY®-nominated RCA Nashville singer/songwriter Chris Young becomes the only artist with two Top 10 singles this week on Billboard’s Digital Country Songs chart, as his new single, “Tomorrow,” explodes onto the chart at #8. With first-week sales in excess of 30,000 downloads according to Nielsen SoundScan, the debut is all the more impressive since the single – at radio now – is still a full week out from its official airplay impact date.
“Tomorrow” joins Young’s recent smash, “Voices,” on the Digital Country Songs Top 10, where “Voices” continues to be a hot seller, with Nielsen SoundScan reporting 29,000 downloads last week. Earlier this month, “Voices” became Young’s third consecutive #1 single on the country airplay charts, joining “Gettin’ You Home” and “The Man I Want to Be,” all from Young’s acclaimed sophomore collection, The Man I Want to Be.
Already set to begin spinning on more than 50 country stations next Monday, “Tomorrow,” written by Young, Frank Myers, and Anthony Smith, is the first single from Young’s upcoming third album, Neon, set to release this summer.
ABOUT CHRIS YOUNG: Recently nominated for his first GRAMMY Award for Best Male Country Vocal Performance with his hit, “Gettin’ You Home,” Young is currently on the road for the second leg of Rascal Flatts’ Nothing Like This Tour. A new album is expected from Young this summer. For tour dates and all the latest information on Chris Young, visit www.chrisyoungcountry.com and follow him on Twitter @ChrisYoungMusic.
That’s it for this morning. I hope by now all of you have heard this great song, but if you haven’t, check it out on iTunes, and call your radio stations and tell them to get it on the air. It’s a great song – but then, it’s Chris Young, it would have to be.
You guys have a fantastic Friday! I’ll talk to you real soon! Write when you have a few minutes. I love your e-mail!
