Since I went to Alan Jackson’s concert on Thursday night, I haven’t stopped telling people about the show, and about how hard Alan worked to make sure everyone who attended had a great concert experience. Alan has had 34 No. 1 songs, I think he sang just about every one of them. More than $42,000 was raised that night for the Hawkins County Relay For Life. Every penny of that will go to the American Cancer Society to help fund research, and go toward the wonderful patient services they offer.
In addition to the concert, there was a silent auction, with many autographed items from some of country music’s biggest stars. You could bid on a pair of Alan’s jeans, or an autographed stool; a guitar autographed by Blake Shelton, the Band Perry, or one autographed by Sara Evans; or signed photographs of Lady Antebellum, Brad Paisley, and dozens of others
There isn’t much more I can say about this s how. It was a wonderful show, and a very successful event for Relay For Life. I would like to share a few more pictures with you all – so here there are!
It was a great night, and again, my thanks to Charlie Chase for bringing Alan Jackson to Rogersville, and to Alan – for working as hard for 1400 fans as he does for 14,000.
The rain is clearing up and I have things to do, so I better get out of here for a while. I hoep you all have a great Saturday. I’ll talk to you soon!
