Since the first time I heard “House That Built Me,” I thought it was one of the best songs ever written. I still do. And now it seems the Academy of Country Music agrees with me. Last night at the ACM awards, Miranda took home awards for Song of the Year. Single Record of the Year, and Video of the Year for “House That Built Me.” Miranda was also the winner of the Female Vocalist award.
Lady Antebellum took home two awards, Album of the Year for “Need You Now,” and Vocal Group of the Year.
The Band Perry, the kids from Greeneville, Tenn., got Best New Artist.
The most predictable award was Duo of the Year, and that one went to Sugarland.
Brad Paisley won Top Male Vocalist.
From the looks of Twitter during the show, there were not a lot of people happy that Taylor Swift won Entertainer of the Year. Here are my thoughts on that one….. I wasn’t the year she won Female Vocalist. The girl is definitely not a good vocalist. However, I can see her winning Entertainer of the Year. While she would not have been my choice, she can definitely entertain. So I’m not going to complain about her winning that one.
I thought it was a good show. Already looking forward to the next one.
I will talk to all of you soon! Enjoy your Monday!
