Wynonna and Naomi have released a new CD, which includes 12 classic songs, along with two new one, “I Will Stand By You” and “Back Home,” featuring Allison Krauss. This is the first time mother and daughter have recorded together since 2004, when Naomi joined her daughter in recording “Flies on the Butter”. That song is also part of this new CD.
Other songs on the new album include “Mama He’s Crazy”, “Grandpa (Tell Me ‘Bout The Good Old Days)”, “Turn It Loose” and their anthem, “Love Can Build A Bridge.”
The Judds were recently recognized as the most award-winning female duo in ACM history. They joined Loretta Lynn, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Jennifer Nettles, Reba and Carrie Underwood for the "ACM Girls Night Out: Superstar Women of Country." The all-star celebrity event will air on CBS April 22.
The iconic duo will also star in their own television documentary series simply titled, The Judds,on the new Oprah Winfrey network (OWN). The show captures Wynonna and Naomi’s unprecedented moments together as they navigate the intricacies of their first tour in 10 years. “The Judds” 2-hour premiere starts at 9 p.m. EST tonight (Sunday, April 10), on OWN.
I had the pleasure of spending a very special day with these two ladies, when we climbed onboard The Santa Train this past November, to deliver toys to thousands of children along the tracks in Kentucky, Virginia and Tennessee.
