Glen Campbell was born in Delight, Arkansas, on April 22, 1036. For almost his entire life, Glen has been delighting music lovers with his music. He’s always been a favorite of mine,. He worked with Bobby Darrin and the Beach Boys back in the 60’s, and later worked shows with Dean Martin, Johnny Hartford, Kenny Rogers, and many other artists. It was because of Glen’s television show that I first became familiar with Johnny Hartford. A very talented writer who died in 2001 at the age of 63.
Glen has sold more than 45 million records during his 50 year career. And if anyone out there doesn’t remember, I’m sure these titles will remind you: "Witchita Lineman, " "Gentle On My Mind, " "Rhinestone Cowboy, " “By the Time I Get to Phoenix,” and one of my favorites – “Gentle on My Mind.”
He has won many music industry awards, including Best Male Vocalist (ACM); Favorite Country Single and Album (AMA); and also won awards in Great Britain, and several Dove Awards. In 1968 He received an Academy of Country Music Award for the category TV Personality of the Year. . Do they still have that award?
