I have something a little different for you today. Different from what I normally write about, because Jenn Grinels is not a country artist. However, it’s hard to tell where country music stops and pop music starts anymore. Jenn is a great singer, putting out some great music. Her MySpace says she is Acoustic / Folk Rock / Pop. I say she’s good!
As if that weren’t enough to interest me, there is a song on her new CD that is actually going to help raise money for the American Cancer Society, an organization that has always been very important to me. There is a note on the inside of the CD that says, “$1 from the sale of this album will be donated to the American Cancer Society.” I was also told that if you purchase just the song “Always”, proceeds from those sales will also benefit ACS.
A part of her bio tells us that in 2007, she gave up her San Diego apartment to hit the road. She was armed only with her guitar and copies of her first full length album, “Little Words.” Three years later, she had a national fanbase, countless accolades, and a brand new album.
Jenn has had her music featured on MTV and several other networks, she was the APCA National Female Solo Artist of the Year in both 2010 and 2011; Q;s House National Podcast, Performance of the Year in 2009; and HAT Awards winner in 2007 for Best Vocal and Best Performer. I‘ve listened to her new CD, Broken Heart Breaker, and
The songs on her Broken Heart Breaker album include “Good as New,” “Expectations,” “Don’t Wanna Be Happy,” Right From the Start,” “Time to Learn,” “Always,” “Black & Blue,” “Begin Again,” “Tangling,” and “Love Again.” They are all good, and anyone who likes any kind of music is going to enjoy listening to Jenn.
CONTEST: Now, here’s our contest. I have three copies of Jenn’s CD to give away. Anyone who has been entering contests at Country’s Chatter knows what to do. Just send your name, and mailing address to firstname.lastname@example.org. Be sure to put JENN CONTEST in the subject line. Three winners will be selected from all the entries received. Keep checking back on her web site, as it is still being worked on. You can also listen to some of her music on her MySpace. When you visit her MySpace, listen to “I Love the Country in You.” You can follow her on Twitter, too, @jenngrinels. Jenn also has a facebook page, so be sure to check that out, too.
