This may not be a name you are very familiar with – yet. But I’m sure it won’t be long until you are. I’ve written about The McClymonts a time or two before, One of the articles was about their appearance at our Washington County Fair in Abingdon, Va., and if you missed that article, you can read it here. I’ve already had the pleasure of seeing them in concert twice. Molly, Samantha and Brooke McClymont put on a very high-energy show. Each of them has an opportunity to showcase their individual talent, while blending harmonies and working together on stage as if they’ve done it all their lives. And, for this sister act from Australia, maybe they have.
It sure doesn’t seem like a year ago that we were talking about Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge in Nashville celebrating its 50th anniversary, but here we are in 2011, getting ready for it to celebrate its 51st. And the McClymonts will be part of that celebration.

About The McClymonts:
CMA 2011 Global Country Artist Award recipients and Australia’s hottest female group, The McClymonts, released their album in the U.S., Wrapped Up Good, on August 23. The album is produced by Nathan Chapman (producer for Taylor Swift’s Taylor Swift, Fearless, and Speak Now) and Adam Anders (Executive Music Producer for Fox TV’s Glee.) Last year, their album was #5 on the Australian country charts (#1-2 Taylor Swift, #3 Lady Antebellum, and #4 Keith Urban) outselling Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson and Kenny Chesney among others. For the past four out of five years, this sister trio won Best Group at the Country Music Awards of Australia. At the ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association) Awards, they picked up Best Country Album in 2008 and 2010. In 2010, the girls opened for Jason Aldean on his fall tour. This summer and fall, they have been touring throughout North America to support the U.S. release of their album. Their recent visit with NPR’s Weekend Edition aired Saturday Oct 8th. Their The Better Show taping was broadcast nationally on October 24.
Looks like those of you in the Nashville area have got a great place to celebrate your ‘Thanksgiving Eve’. If you haven’t heard these girls, be sure to visit their web site and listen to some of their music. I think you’re going to agree with me — they know definitely know how to entertain.
That will do it for me for now. I’ll talk to you all soon!
