Most of you have heard me talk about Jessica Nixon, she is an up-and-coming country artist from Northeast Tennessee. And, the home folks are going to have an opportunity to see and hear Jessica and her band on Friday, Jan. 20, 2012. Jessica will be at Smokehouse Barbeque, 1941 Milligan Hwy, Elizabethton, from 6:30-9:00 p.m.

She has opened for Linda Davis, Ty Herndon, Ricochet, and Bradley Gaskin. This past December Jessica recorded a new project at the Sound Studio in Nashville and was fortunate enough to work with some of Nashville’s finest musicians and record music she wrote, along with other amazing songwriters, including Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott.
Jessica is backed by her talented band River Run, an experienced and diverse group of musicians that add to her unique sound. On banjo and rhythm guitar, Kent Edwards has over 40 years experience. Edwards has played with Mark Prewitt and was a charter member of the Muddy River Boys. Rocky Allen provides rhythm on the bass, bringing music knowledge from many genres including bluegrass, southern gospel, and country.
If any of you are as close to Elizabethton as I am – I’ll see you there!
More later,
Country

She is pitchy and straining in a few of her songs. I can also respect her style, but she is not a very pretty girl.
