Before the awards show even started, we knew that Thompson Square received their award for Vocal Duo of the year last night; and, on the Red Carpet, we saw Toby Keith receive the Video of the Year Award for “Red Solo Cup.” It was also announced that Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson won for Vocal Event of the Year, for “Don’t You Wanna Stay.” That honor was also given to Jason when he was on the Red Carpet.
Then the show started – lots of entertainment with a great performance by Carrie Underwood to open the show, The Band Perry sang their new one, and Keith Urban gave us the song he wrote for the movie Act of Valor. Those of you who didn’t watch the show missed a lot of great country music. And here are the winners.

It was a good show. Too long, I think, but that’s just my opinion. I would really like to see this become a two hour show. Concentrate on the awards with a few performances by the artists. And then, maybe next week, give us another two hour show with is nothing by entertainment! That would be great. Three hours is too long, and a lot of what they did wasn’t necessary. The ladies looked beautiful, the guys looked handsome, and the winners looked very happy. That’s my take on the 47th annual Academy of Country Music Awards – let me know what you think. Are you happy with the winners? What would you like to see done differently?
I’m ready for bed! Back soon!
Country

I bet you know what I wish was different…lol. It was nice to see Blake and Miranda win a couple of years, but it’s getting old for me. Chris Young will always be my choice for male vocalist! I’m with you about it being too long. There was way too much fluff, especially the non-country appearances. I mean KISS…really? And I don’t know if it’s me or what, but the sound seemed off for the live performances. None of them sounded quite right to me. Oh well, that’s my two cents worth. Thanks for being on top of things!
