Over the past 4-1/2 years, I’ve introduced you to a lot of new artists. Some of them are just new to me, they’ve been entertaining for a while now. And, some of them are just new to you, my readers. I have a feeling Teea Goans is not going to be new to everyone reading Country’s Chatter. I met her quite a while ago, on Twitter. And when I listened to her sing – on YouTube, I was an instant fan.
You guys know how much I love country music. REAL country music. The kind we heard back in the 50s and 60s and 70s… the kind we heard when we listened to Kitty Wells, Loretta Lynn, Connie Smith, Patsy Cline – well, you get the idea. THAT, my friends is the kind of country music you get when you listen to Teea Goans. The songs are great, her vocals are great, and she certainly found her place on the country stage.
Teea has a very impressive resume. She’s played the Opry, she’s played theaters in Branson, she’s done her share of radio tours, and if you check her facebook page, you’ll find that she has stood by many of our biggest country artists…country legends, if you will. Look through the albums on her facebook – there you will find Teea with Loretta Lynn, George Strait, George Jones, Porter Wagoner, Garth Brooks, ant the list goes on and on. Shoot, she’s even got her picture with Gnash, the mascot for our Nashville Predators hockey team.
On her facebook page, under About, there is a wonderful biography about Teea. I hope you will all go read it – and remember when you visit her facebook page, click on ‘Like’ up there at the top. Even though I want you to go read her bio, I just have to share the opening paragraph with you here – It certainly tells you more about her music in one paragraph than I could tell in an entire article. “If Hank Williams and his mentor, Fred Rose, came back to life in top form, they could not have crafted a more soulful array of songs than singer Teea Goans presents here in her debut album, The Way I Remember It. Goans’ sweetly plaintive voice comes at you like a beam of light through utter darkness. She doesn’t simply sing country music, she delivers its very essence.”
I could talk about Teea and her music all day, but I think I’ll share one of the YouTube videos with all of you. You will see why I’m so impressed with her. And I know all of you will be, too. I hope you will all let me know what you think of this song, and this very talented new artist.
In additino to Teea’s facebook, I hope you will visit her web site, and follow her on Twitter @teeagoans.
Look forward to hearing your comments about Teea, and really hope you will visit her facebook page.
