When we saw Mike Eli, and the Eli Young Band, on Wednesday night at the Paramount in Bristol, Tenn., he told us that he and his wife, Kacey, would be having their baby on Monday, July 30, and it looks like everything went according to that schedule. Mike did tell us it would be a girl, but kind of giggled when he said his wife would not be happy if he told us her name – so we all waited patiently for that. The baby, we can now tell you, is Kline Olivia Diaz. [Source[
People has a little bit of a confusing announcement – they said: “The singer and his wife Kacey, a marketing director, welcomed their first child, daughter Kline Olivia Diaz, on Tuesday, July 30, they confirm to PEOPLE exclusively.” [Source] Mike told last week that the baby was scheduled to be born on Monday, which was July 30. The People article says it was Tuesday (July 30). Until I hear otherwise, I’m going to call it a Monday, July 30, 2012, birthdate for little Kline.
The baby weighed 6 pounds 5 ounces, and was 20-1/4 inches long.
Country’s Chatter is sending out a huge congratulations to Mike and Kacey, and wishing all the best to the family, and little Kline. Mike is getting ready to get back on the road, when Eli Young Band joins Rascal Flatts on tour, with the Charlotte, N.C. show next Thursday.
I’ve told you all before how much I enjoy the music from this great band. If you missed the review on their CD “Life At Best,” you can read that by clicking here. Follow the band on Twitter, @EliYoungBand, and be sure to check out their web site.
