Wednesday night I told you all about Jessica Nixon, who was performing on the Museum Stage at our Appalachian Fair. But there was another group on the fairgrounds last night, too. They were on the Main Stage. This stage is usually where we see our best country music every year. This stage is where the 2012 fair lineup included Jake Owen, Kellie Pickler, Hunter Hayes…. you get the idea. Well, on Wednesday we had something different. The group was Tenth Avenue North.
I don’t know a lot about them. I have visited their web site, and encourage all of you to visit, too. All I can tell you about these guys is that they are very talented musicians, and have a great lead vocalist. Other than that, here’s my problem. They are a Christian Rock Band, and while I love gospel music, I love my church, I love God and thank him for the many blessings in my life; and I found the lyrics to be meaningful and encouraging, I just couldn’t get into the music. I’m just not a fan of any kind of rock music. But the crowd there definitely was. These kids have a great following, and in spite of my personal taste in music – they not only put on a really good show, but they let us all see why they are an award-winning band. Check them out on YouTube, follow them on Twitter @tenthavenorth, and check out their facebook page.
Here are a few more pictures from last night’s show, and one or two from the Meet & Greet at the fair. (All photos taken by Country’s Chatter)
That’s all for this morning. I’ll be back later.
