Today I did something more than just a little out of the ordinary for me. I was a judge at the state finals of the Virginia Bluegrass Gospel Country Music Association competition held in Kingsport, Tenn. It was definitely different from writing a review about a country concert, or a newly released CD, but it was a great experience for me.
We have a lot of talent here in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. Today’s competition had vocalists from every genre’ (the association represents), and every age from 6 through adult.
Unfortunately, my notes are somewhere between the venue and my house, and I don’t have the names of these vocalists, but I’m going to put a few pictures up for all of you just the same. Hopefully, some of them will be moving on to the National Finals to be held in March in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
I hope to learn more about this organization, and more about the vocalists I watched (and judged) this afternoon. We’ll be bringing you more about them from time to time.
I’ll be back with more later!
