Wednesday was day three of our annual Appalachian Fair in Gray, Tenn. The headliner was Jeremy Camp, contemporary Christian artist, and winner of five Dove Awards. Jeremy has 11 albums under his belt, and four of them have been RIAA-certified Gold. His newest album is titled “Reckless”, and includes his single, “My God’.
When Jeremy takes the stage, his love of God is so evident. The personal story he has to share will break your heart, but at the same time, it will lift your spirits, and help you to understand what God’s love can do in your life. Jeremy lost his first wife to Cancer. It was during her illness that he wrote what are actually two of my favorite Jeremy Camp songs, “I Still Believe” and “Walk By Faith.”
His show wasn’t just music and talk, it was a light show. It was a show that pulled you in and didn’t let you go until it was finished. It was a show that let you laugh, and even made you cry. And it was show that shared God’s word, and told you what you may not have already known about how much Jesus loves you.
No, this wasn’t the country music show you usually read about on Country’s Chatter. But it was a show I wouldn’t have missed for anything. Each year, our Appalachian Fair puts a Christian group or solo act on stage on Wednesday night. The show is heavily attended by local church youth groups, as well as others who simply love God. I am thrilled that I had an opportunity to see Jeremy Camp in concert, and I hope all of you will take have a chance to see him on stage sometime soon.
Now only is Jeremy a talented, inspiring entertainer, he’s a genuinely nice person. Everyone who had a chance to talk to him could tell how much he likes being out with is fans. It was definitely a night which will go down as one of my favorites this year’s Appalachian Fair.
Here are some photos from Wednesday night’s show. If you weren’t there – you missed a blessing!
