Musicians On Call (MOC) Nashville welcomed two very special music guests last week. Both rock band Imagine Dragons and country artist Josh Thompson made surprise visits to local healthcare facilities through Musicians On Call.
The GRAMMY Award-winning band Imagine Dragons teamed up with MOC Nashville to host an exclusive listening party for patients and families at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. The band answered questions during an informal Q&A and posed for photos with attendees while listening to their latest album, Night Visions. The band was in town to play a sold-out show at Bridgestone Arena last Monday.
On Wednesday, MOC Nashville had country music’s Josh Thompson return to the VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System’s Nashville campus to participate in its weekly Bedside Performance Program. Thompson, whose father was a military veteran, went room-to-room to visit with the patients and their families and play songs like his hits "Way Out Here" and “Beer on the Table.” Thompson currently has “Cold Beer with Your Name on it” climbing the charts and his second studio album, Turn It Up, is due out April 1.
Through the generous support of artists and the Nashville community, MOC Nashville can continue to deliver the healing power of music to those who need it most. For information on MOC events, programs, volunteering and more, please visit www.MusiciansOnCall.org.
