Early in December, Singer/Songwriter Chelsea Bain turned her Webasto/Bass Pro Shops stage at the Charlotte Motor Speedway into a makeshift recruiting center recently, when 50 young Air Force recruits had the honor and distinction of being sworn in by a three-star general.
Chelsea met several members of the Air Force at the military branch’s display at the speedway. They invited her back later that afternoon to witness the swearing in of the new recruits by Lt. General Kevin McLaughlin, Deputy Commander, US Cyber Command. Chelsea asked if they would be interested in using her stage for the ceremony, insisting that it could be more memorable for the recruits and give the Air Force greater visibility for the event.
The Air Force loved the idea. At 4:00pm – or 1600 in military time – all 50 recruits gathered together on the stage and raised their right hands, while Lt. General McLaughlin swore them in. Chelsea met each one, as they came off stage, to congratulate them in their new endeavor.
On the music front, Chelsea has been writing and recording for her debut album, duo out in 2015. She headlined the Webasto/Bass Pro Shops Stage at numerous NASCAR races this year.
