Row Entertainment, a new indie label/publishing company formed by songwriter/producer Jimmy Ritchey, recording star Tim Rushlow and businessman Kyle Waites, hosted a fun-filled, throwback party to introduce the new company Thursday night (1/29) at the Rosewall in Nashville’s Gulch district. The retro-themed bash resembled a Las Vegas supper club, complete with a martini bar and a host of tasty hors d’oeuvres, as industry members were treated to a set of scorching standards from Row Entertainment’s first project, Tim Rushlow, former Little Texas lead vocalist. Backed by a world-class band of musicians, Rushlow and his big band rolled through a set of classics from Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Bobby Darin, among others, with plenty of style and swagger. These selections were right in the vocal wheelhouse for Rushlow, a longtime fan of the big band era who was heavily influenced by the musical heroes of that time period.
Rushlow unveiled what he has been cooking up the past year. In November the successful release of his debut big band Christmas record hinted at his direction, but last Thursday night Tim unleashed a swinging set with his big band that will solidify his position in a new genre. The Rosewall was absolutely packed to the rafters as a star studded audience watched as Rushlow showed the crowd what Bobby Darin would look like in 2015. Tim grew up with these songs and they are deep in his DNA, so he decided to go back to the well and do what is natural for him.
“I have been blessed with some amazing milestones in my career but have NEVER experienced anything more real, fun, honest, and natural as getting to front this big band. I have known since I was a little boy that someday I would do this and it is apparent that someday has arrived. I cannot wait to take this show on the road where it belongs and share these amazing songs and arrangements from the great American songbook,” says Rushlow.
TNDV was on hand with their cameras and gear to capture the stellar show in H-D for a future TV special and Brantley Audio brought in the world class sound and lights, for which they are known. Rushlow is in the process of recording a brand new CD of big band tunes due out later this year. The project will be released by Row Entertainment under the direction of Waites, Ritchey and Rushlow, who are heading up the exciting new venture.
Ritchey comes to Row from having just built “Vibe Room Music” signing and developing writers and artists such as Sam Hunt. The award-winning producer and songwriter also penned hits for artists like Jake Owen (“The One That Got Away,”) and George Strait (“I Gotta Get To You,”) and has produced projects for numerous acts including Greg Bates, Owen, Clay Walker, and Mark Chesnutt.
Entrepreneur Kyle Waites comes to Row Entertainment with his years of business management and financial prowess and Rushlow brings a wealth of experience, from star front man and hit songwriter to savvy marketeering.https://www.countryschatter.com/2015/02/row-entertainment-brings-some-swing-to-music-row-with-major-launch-party/NewsPress Releasebig band Christmas record,Jimmy Ritchey,Kyle Waiters,Little Texas,Music Row,Row Entertainment,Tim Ruslow
